The reported abduction has caused concern among villagers. Some residents have reportedly fled to nearby areas, including Phwin Phyu Chaung and Ngan Chaung villages, fearing further incidents.
Local accounts also point to broader concerns in northern Rakhine State, where Rohingya communities continue to face allegations of discrimination, forced labour, and arbitrary arrests. These claims remain difficult to independently verify due to limited access to the region.
Community members have called on international organizations to conduct investigations into the reported incident and to ensure protection for civilians.
