Rohingya Refugee Camps, Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh, April 28: A five-year-old Rohingya child was killed after being struck by a vehicle in Camp 13 of the refugee settlement in Cox's Bazar on Tuesday morning, according to witnesses and local residents.
The child was identified by family members as Abu Obaida, son of Mv Abdullah and Hamida, residents of Camp 13, Block E-03.

Witnesses said the child was walking along a roadside pavement near the Nutrition Office at around 11:30 a.m. when a vehicle reportedly operated by International Organization for Migration (IOM) struck him.

According to residents, the child was injured in the initial collision and remained on the road when the vehicle reversed and struck him again, leading to his death.
Local residents said Abu Obaida was declared dead at the scene. Community representatives in the area were identified by residents as Sub Majhi Eman Hussain and Head Majhi Abdullah.
The tragedy has prompted grief and concern among camp residents, with many calling for greater road safety measures in and around densely populated camp areas.
